Overall experience ok.
Ordered a HP compaq from Portable universe with next day delivery as needed a replacement ASAP for work. However, it was soon evident from an email saying 'awaiting stock' that I would not be receiving the laptop the next day.
Sent 2 emails asking why it was awaiting stock - no reply. Then called them on the number on the emails and was told that the laptop I ordered was out of stock and they would be sending me a newer model of the one I ordered to make up for it. They said they'd call me the next day as they were waiting for a stock list to come in.
They didn't call me - so I called them - was told that I would now have to wait til after the bank holiday (i.e Tuesday) until they could see the stock list. Waited til Tuesday, did get a phone call and a promise that they were upgrading me to a model four series on from the original one I ordered. However, I wouldn't be receiving it til Friday as stock wasn't coming in til Thursday. This would be now 10 days after I had originally ordered it.
The replacement laptop did come on Friday and so far I am very pleased with it as it is very fast and very light, hardly any marks on it and seems to be a nice, efficient laptop. I am impressed with the model and fingers crossed it lasts!
As for the customer service, despite not receiving calls back when promised, the staff were mostly polite, apologetic and as helpful as they could be. It was a frustrating experience but I am pleased with the end result. |
